Our Lady of Fatima’s sister parish and school, Collège Décoste, in Thomonde, Haiti, serves students in grades 6 through 12. Your generous contributions in monthly green envelopes, through Realm, and in special collections, have enabled us to continue to pay the teachers’ salaries. In the past year, there have been break-ins and thefts at the school. Father Romuald Fréjuste, the school’s principal, asked us, “With the insecurity that is wreaking havoc on the country at present, it is too dangerous to leave a night guard alone. Would you be able to help us build a concrete wall around the back to keep thieves from breaking in at night?”
We have been able to pay for part of the wall so far. Father said, “I received the check. Thanks a million. May God bless you all!” Father continually thanks us: “I know that your means are limited. Thank you for continuing to think about us in these difficult times. We continue to pray for you and for all of your families.” Later, Father writes, “Thanking you for your full cooperation in the smooth operation of the high school. We in Thomonde are very grateful to you all.” And again: “I never stop praying for each of you. Without your support, the school would not be able to meet its obligations. Thank you for your concern. God bless you.”
