Watch: The Hands That Serve – A Glimpse into Martha’s Hands Ministry

In our parish, one of the most beautiful examples of love in action is seen through the loving, faithful work of Martha’s Hands—a ministry dedicated to feeding and serving our neighbors in Blount County who are experiencing need.

Martha’s Hands serves hot, home-cooked meals in our parish social hall to neighbors across Blount County in need on the first and third Wednesdays of every month. Volunteers prepare, serve, clean up, and additionally deliver meals to:

  • Haven House
  • Broadway Towers
  • Maryville Towers
  • Individuals living in their cars in local parking lots

Beginning April 16, our guests will also have access to a mobile shower truck, generously provided by the Tennessee Valley Coalition for the Homeless, available on the third Wednesday of each month (weather permitting). We also offer hygiene products and, in the colder months, items like hats, gloves, scarves, and hand warmers.

The video above, created by a parishioner, offers a moving glimpse into the ministry—close-ups of hands preparing food, serving meals, washing dishes, and offering dignity and warmth to others. These are the hands that embody Christ’s call to serve.

Today, we’re launching a 30-day fundraiser to support this growing ministry and invite YOU to be part of it. Whether through your donations or your time, your help can go a long way in sustaining and expanding this essential outreach.

Your support helps make all of this possible. As the need grows, so does our call to respond. Every donation and every hour volunteered goes directly into feeding, serving, and dignifying the lives of our neighbors.

Fundraiser runs from April 26 to May 26.

All volunteers must be CMG certified.

Thank you for walking with us in this mission.

Let’s be the hands of Christ—together!
