Job Title: Family Life Coordinator
Reports to: Pastor & DRE

Employment Type: Full-Time, 35 Hours

Position Summary : The Family Life Coordinator enhances parish family life by organizing faith-based events, coordinating childcare, and leading programs that foster community and support spiritual growth. This role focuses on planning and promoting activities that strengthen and support families.

Key Responsibilities
Childcare
• Implement and develop childcare offerings for the parish.
• Provide safe, welcoming childcare during parish events and religious education.
• Recruit, train, and supervise childcare staff; ensuring compliance with safety policies.
Family Events
• Plan and oversee family-focused events throughout the year.
• Collaborate with ministries and parishioners to facilitate event planning navigation.
• Manage event logistics and volunteers to promote broad parish participation.
Parent & Family Catechesis
• Facilitate programs that support the faith formation of parents and children.
• Offer resources and opportunities to integrate faith into daily family life.
Community Outreach
• Coordinate family-friendly service projects and outreach efforts.
• Partner with local organizations to expand volunteer opportunities.
Welcoming New Families
• Greet and engage new families at masses and parish events.
• Provide information about parish programs and ministries for new parish families.
• Organize welcome events and assign parish mentors to support integration.
Pastoral Family Care
• Advocate for the needs of families in the parish community.
• Organize programs to support parents as faith educators.
• Ensure families in need receive practical and emotional support.

Qualifications
• A solid understanding of child development for nurturing care.
• Practicing Catholic with understanding of Church catechesis.
• Experience in ministry, family programming, or event coordination.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with multi-generational groups.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Teams, social media platforms, and basic office tools.
• Meets diocesan Safe Environment requirements.
• Must consent to a criminal background check, including checks against vulnerable person’s registry, sexual offender registry, and Department of Children’s Services indicated abuse perpetrator registry. Passing these checks is a condition of employment.
• Must be willing to sign a form allowing access to Tennessee and national criminal history through TBI and FBI, with passing results as a condition of employment.
• Must provide a Child Care Provider Medical Report complete by a doctor and be capable of performing physical duties.

Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in theology, social work, psychology, education, counseling or a related field.
OR
• 3+ years of relevant parish ministry or family programming experience.
