November is a time for remembering the deceased. Beginning the month with All Saints and All Souls, the Church calls on us to reflect on those who now victoriously reign with Christ and to pray for those faithful departed who are still in need of purgation. To aid us in praying for our deceased loved ones, we have prepared a book and altar of the dead. Please add the names of family and friends who have passed to the book of the dead and pictures of them to the altars on either side of the book. Candles will be kept burning in rememberance of them and a prayer will be added to the General Intercessions at all masses during November.

O Lord, who are ever merciful and generous with your gifts, look upon the souls in purgatory. Remember not their offenses and negligences, but be mindful of your loving mercy, which is from all eternity. Cleanse them of their sins and fulfill their ardent desires that they may be made worthy to behold you face to face. May they soon be united with you and hear those blessed words which will call them to their heavenly home: "Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."
