Save paper
Paper, paper everywhere- office, schools, home! It is so easy to take for granted the abundance of paper and barely consider the source. Yet every year, monoculture plantations for paper production replace native forests and decrease the biodiversity of those rich ecosystems. “A sober look at our world shows that the degree of human intervention often in the service of consumerism is making our earth less rich and beautiful” [LS 34]. Our Week #5 Way to Care for Creation is to save paper by reducing its use in every area (don’t print the internet)! Use (and reuse) paper towels sparingly, and print only what is necessary, printing on both sides. And of course, recycle! The US recycles 50% of its used paper…. Let’s up that to 100%!
