On March 11, 2000, our present church on Louisville Road was dedicated, marking the completion of a nearly four-year building project and campaign called "Dream It Possible". The hymn “Sing a New Church” was at last a reality and a flood of emotion ensued those in attendance when, as is tradition, the lights are turned off and then turned on to signify a new church’s existence.
There has been much life at our parish since that Saturday almost 25 years ago. Our parish has more than doubled in membership, we have flourished in new ministries/programs, and our once "new" building has begun to show signs of aging. Our parish strives to be proactive in the upkeep of the legacy left to us by parishioners and complete repairs before they cause degradation to the building.
Recent building surveys found costly repairs that will be required on the exterior walls of our buildings within the next year. Weather and time have created cracks, erosion, and fading of the exterior that can cause more serious issues in the future if not corrected. These repairs require paint to be applied soon after being done in order to protect the work properly. This work is estimated to cost an estimated $50,000.
The generosity of our parishioners, have allowed us to maintain a healthy financial status in the last few years that place us in a position to pay-off our parish debt within the next year.
This Giving Tuesday, in an effort to be good stewards of the property and of financial resources, we hope to raise funds with this campaign to offset the parish's expense and allow us to keep a healthy financial state.
